Stellantis hits the brakes
Looks like big changes are in store for Stellantis (parent company of Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, Ram, Fiat, and Alfa Romeo). After releasing dismal financial figures, CEO Tevares says they need to axe weak brands and tackle their inventory issues in the US ahead of their release of 20 new models this year.
What this means for us:
New vehicles! Look for smaller, more electrified options, and more rebadged vehicles from their European brands.
More incentives in the short term, less in the long term.
Less inventory and longer waits for sought after models. The trend with automakers has been to make less vehicles before knowing the demand is there.
